About

About Young Turkish American Photographer Sinem Oguz.

“You don’t make a photograph just with a camera. You bring to the act of photography all the pictures you have seen, the books you have read, the music you have heard, the people you have loved.”
Ansel Adams

I was born in Ankara, Turkey and immigrated with my family to the United States in 2009. I am now a student at Leonia Science Academy in Junior Class, New Jersey. Among my numerous hobbies and volleyball playing, I have a natural affinity toward photography.

As a matter of fact, photography is my passion that allows me to capture the world around me, to grasp the moments of life and let me relive them through the images. Surely, there are big names, the masters of photography, who inspired me and made me want to get the camera to take a picture and their everlasting images motivated me so much.

I’m drawn both to artistic and documentary photography and I’m doing my best to improve myself. For this, I have taken course on digital photography and short film production at the Summer Institute for Gifted and Talented at Harvard, UCLA, Princeton and Yale campuses. I look forward to using my natural talents with photography and I really want to further develop my skills and this website will be the place where I can share my photographs with you.
